Low Cost Treatment Options

The Redleaf Practice is committed to increasing access to high quality care for patients for whom cost of outpatient treatment is a barrier.

We are pleased to announce that as part of Chris Thornton’s association with Macquarie University, The Redleaf Practice has committed to taking on Master of Clinical Psychology students who are passionate about developing skills in the treatment of eating disorders.
These students are all in their final clinical placement and have had training in evidence based approaches to a wide range of clinical presentations. The Master of Clinical Psychology Interns will see patients both with Chris Thornton or under his direct training and supervision.

As there is no Medicare rebate generally available for the client these services are offered at $25 per session.

Marion Kellenbach

Our current Master of Clinical Psychology Intern is Marion Kellenbach. Marion is trained a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. She has a PhD in Psychology and is currently undertaking a Masters of Clinical Psychology at Macquarie University.  Marion is conducting a Clinical Psychology placement at The Redleaf Practice, under the supervision of our Clinical Director Chris Thornton.

In her previous position at the Macquarie University Psychology Clinic, Marion saw both adult and child clients with a range of mood and anxiety disorders, bulimia, adult ADHD and family issues.  She has also worked as a psychologist at the Macquarie University Counselling and Psychological Service, assisting students presenting with varied mental health issues including mood, anxiety and trauma-related disorders, gender identity issues, and bipolar disorder.  Marion brings a passion for facilitating positive change in mental health, and a particular interest in the treatment of eating disorders.  She values the development of collaborative and respectful relationships with clients, and individuated therapy to support each client’s needs.

Marion has also worked in The Netherlands and the UK as a research psychologist, held administrative positions supporting research into a range of cognitive disorders, been employed as an academic journals editor at Cambridge University Press, and taught psychology subjects at university level.

Marion is available for appointments on Wednesday and Friday, and is available to see adolescents and adults who are suffering from disordered eating.
